Sarah Rice Design, LLC is a residential interior design firm serving the Austin area. I began this business because of my lifelong passion for interior design. After deciding to make that passion a career, I called the one person I knew would be the perfect addition - my mom, Diana. Diana's decades of experience as a florist and DIY maven have elevated Sarah Rice Design to a whole new level.
We use our passion and experience to create unique and sophisticated designs that reflect our clients' lives. Sarah Rice Design offers full service from design creation to installation as well as custom floral arrangements, custom shelving, custom accent walls, board and batten walls, minor furniture restoration, custom artwork and seat reupholstering. When we started building our forever home, I knew we needed Sarah to help design two important rooms-- my husband’s office & our living room. My husband has always wanted a classy, comfortable office with a lounge/drink area. I told Sarah to “just go for it.” She nailed every detail of this room & incorporated some really personal decor for my husband to feel special. Sarah also painted the office & installed wainscoting, which makes my husband feel so professional on zoom calls. For our living room, Sarah honed in on our style & created a gorgeous color palette and design board. She made built in shelves for the room that look like our builder installed them. Her attention to detail, communication, & respect for our style was flawless. She elevated & refined our ideas & was very respectful of the budget we set. Sarah helped us make our house a home...and also perfectly styled with a toddler in mind! With Sarah by our side, the design process was fun & easy. I had the pleasure of working with Sarah this past October. I have been living in my house for almost three years and barely had anything up on the walls. My decorations were from college and purchased on a first year teacher salary years ago. I was ready for a change! After seeing some of the design work Sarah had done with some of my friends, I decided to finally make a change. I shared my vision with Sarah; a house that made me feel more like an independent adult! When she created my design board, I was blown away with the details of every piece. Each piece she selected fit right into what I was wanting for my spaces. From there, she made an easy, accessible list of items to purchase. We had two installation days because I had four different areas to decorate. Sarah and her mother worked for HOURS decorating and installing all the pieces and putting things into place. I was amazed at the work she and her mother did! Now, after working long hours in the classroom, I come home and I am at peace with my living space! Thank you again Sarah! I am so grateful that I found Sarah to work with me in recreating my living room. She transformed it from a boring room that collected randomly purchased items that did not match. I had zero theme in the room. It was dark and uninviting. As a family, that’s where we should spend our time together, but it just wasn’t a happy space! Sarah was able to create a room that was personal and so very inviting! We spend a LOT more time together in our “grown-up” living room and now I hope she will help me tackle my office!

There had been severe damage done to me and my spouse’s dining room table/furniture and two statues while in transit. When I saw the damage I was in tears and started praying. As my husband and I were moving items into our new home, our neighbor shared that Sarah was an interior designer and that she is the best. Little did any of us know that Sarah and Diana would be the answer to my prayers. Words cannot do justice to what Sarah and Diana accomplished in our home. I cannot repurchase or find the furniture they restored as these items were inherited. They did such an amazing job my husband and I had them reupholster our pillows and provide window treatments. We had the pleasure of having Sarah help us redesign several rooms in our home. After being in our home for six years, we decided that we wanted to change things around but we weren’t sure of exactly what we wanted. Based on all of the positive reviews we had heard about Sarah, we decided to contact her for a consultation. Upon meeting with her we found her to be very knowledgeable and understanding. She really took her time to find out what we wanted and came up with some great ideas! She made several recommendations which we really liked. When we received the actual design plan we were really impressed! She developed a plan that made our house a HOME.
She did an excellent job in transforming all of the rooms into exactly what we were looking for. She reconfigured the living room furniture to make it seem larger and more inviting. The decor she chose flowed well through out.
As a bonus her mother Diana, works with her! They both worked hard at moving furniture and making sure everything was to our satisfaction. They are warm, honest, caring people. They explain everything fully. They have excellent attention to detail and a very keen sense of design.

I heard about the amazing design of Sarah through a very dear friend. I told Sarah I have a vanilla bathroom and I want neapolitan. I also needed a bland niche to come to life. She nailed it!
